Crust

Good day,

Sorry I've been slow on the cancer updates. Here's the latest:

Over the past month and a half or so I've been dealing with a lot of eye irritation. They have been red and foggy. Last Thursday I woke up at 12:30am with searing pain in my right eye. I took a couple ibuprofen and forced myself back to sleep. When I awoke the pain had, at least partially, subsided, but I was left extremely sensitive to any light. Over the course of the day it calmed down, but was still fairly uncomfortable. I gave my nurse a call at the SCCA, told him my symptoms, he called Dr. T, then called me back. Basically he said that if I can tolerate it to just do so until my appointment the following Tuesday. If it became intolerable I was supposed to stop taking my medication for a few days, then start back at a lower dose.

I was like "F-That!"

So I manned up. Then Tuesday morning I woke up again at 12:30 with the same pain in my left eye, but slightly more severe. Took some ibuprofen and, again, forced myself back to sleep. When I woke up I could hardly open the eye. I was sitting at my computer in my darkened bedroom with dark sunglasses on, and still the light was a bit much. At the appointment that afternoon, Dr. T said I had conjunctivitis (pink eye) and prescribed some eye drops. Again he thought I should consider taking a five-day break from the meds, but I refused.

So, long-story-short, the eye drops are working. I'm still getting a little crust in the corners, and things still look a bit foggy, but a definite improvement from searing pain.

Other then that, I'm super excited about the open mic coming up next Wednesday at 8:30. I'd suggest showing up early :)
